Milton Fatal Crash: Meagan Livingston and Landon Sanders Killed in Collision
The quiet community of Milton, Florida, is mourning after a late-night crash claimed the lives of two teenagers, Meagan Livingston and Landon Sanders. Both were former students of Milton High School and were known among friends as a close couple whose bond was often seen as inseparable.
The crash occurred around 11:25 p.m. on April 24 at a rural intersection in Santa Rosa County, an area with limited lighting and little traffic at night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck carrying six people was traveling east on Cornfield Way when it collided with an SUV heading north on American Farms Road. The impact set off a chain reaction that ended in tragedy.
After the collision, the pickup truck left the roadway, struck nearby trees, and overturned. The crash was severe, and two passengers were ejected from the vehicle. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but both Meagan Livingston and Landon Sanders were pronounced dead at the scene.
Those who knew them describe the teens as deeply connected, often seen together and remembered for the closeness they shared. Their sudden loss has left classmates, friends, and family in shock, struggling to process how quickly their lives were taken.
Several others in the pickup truck were seriously injured. The 20-year-old driver from Milton suffered major injuries, while a 19-year-old female passenger remains in critical condition. Two additional passengers, aged 18 and 19, were also seriously hurt and transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The driver of the SUV, a 57-year-old Milton woman, sustained minor injuries and was the only occupant of her vehicle.
In the days following the crash, the community has begun coming together to support the grieving families. A fundraising effort has been started to help with funeral expenses and medical costs, reflecting the strong impact both teens had on those around them.
The Florida Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide Unit is continuing its investigation, examining factors such as speed, right-of-way, and roadway conditions. Officials are also reminding drivers of the dangers of rural roads at night and urging caution behind the wheel.
For Milton, the loss of Meagan Livingston and Landon Sanders has left a lasting sense of sorrow, as the community remembers two young lives that ended far too soon.
