Karen Francisco Dies After Maplewood Drive Blaze

A quiet afternoon on Maplewood Drive in Bastrop turned tragic when a house fire broke out in the 4300 block and claimed the life of 58-year-old Karen Francisco. What began as an ordinary day was suddenly transformed into an emergency as flames quickly consumed a family home.

Firefighters from the Bastrop Fire Department were dispatched around 3:00 p.m. on April 24 after reports of a structure fire. By the time crews arrived, the home was already heavily engulfed, with flames spreading rapidly through the building.
