Aaron Holliday Dies After Chase Linked to Fatal Shooting of Ex-Wife Lisa Adkins

A violent chain of events that began in downtown Goshen has left two people dead and shaken multiple communities across several counties, following what authorities describe as a targeted shooting and a fatal police pursuit involving 50-year-old Lisa Adkins and her former husband, Aaron Holliday.

The incident began at the intersection of Main and Clinton Streets in Goshen, a normally busy but peaceful part of the city. According to investigators, Adkins was shot multiple times in what police believe was a deliberate attack. The sudden outbreak of gunfire in a public area caused immediate panic, with witnesses describing confusion, fear, and chaos as the situation unfolded.

Authorities quickly identified Aaron Holliday, Adkins’ ex-husband, as the primary suspect in the shooting. Law enforcement agencies responded rapidly as he fled the scene, triggering an urgent multi-county pursuit. What began in Goshen quickly escalated into a fast-moving and coordinated law enforcement operation.

The pursuit reportedly began near Kewanna after Holliday failed to stop for officers attempting a traffic stop. From there, the chase extended through Fulton, Pulaski, and Cass counties. Multiple agencies joined the effort, working to manage public safety while tracking the suspect’s movements across increasingly rural and highway areas.

After approximately 40 minutes, the pursuit came to an end when a state trooper performed a PIT maneuver, causing Holliday’s vehicle to lose control and crash into a fixed object. The chase was brought to a halt, but the situation remained unstable as officers approached the vehicle.

As law enforcement moved in, a gunshot was heard from inside the car. Authorities later confirmed that Holliday had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, bringing a sudden and violent conclusion to the pursuit. The sequence of events left investigators and responding officers confronting a scene marked by both urgency and tragedy.

While the pursuit ended in Holliday’s death, the focus in Goshen quickly returned to the earlier and separate loss of Lisa Adkins. She is being remembered by family and friends as a kind and compassionate person whose presence had a meaningful impact on those around her. Loved ones are now left grieving a life taken in an act of violence that has been described as both shocking and deeply personal in nature.

The fact that the shooting appears to be connected to a prior relationship has added another layer of grief and complexity for those closest to her, as they try to process not only her loss but the circumstances surrounding it.

State police are leading an ongoing investigation into both the shooting and the subsequent pursuit. Officials are working to establish a full timeline of events, including the initial confrontation in Goshen, the multi-county chase, and the final moments that ended both lives.

As investigators continue their work, communities across the region are left grappling with the aftermath of a day defined by violence, urgency, and irreversible loss. For those who knew Lisa Adkins, the priority now is remembrance and healing, even as questions remain about how the tragedy unfolded.
