Jarvis Allison Jr. Killed After Teen Gunfire Erupts

Peoria is grieving the loss of 17-year-old Jarvis Allison Jr., whose life was cut short in a shooting that unfolded Sunday evening at Bradley Park. What began as a gathering quickly turned into chaos, leaving a young life lost and a community searching for answers.

Jarvis, who lived on West Millman Street, was shot shortly after 7:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of North Park Road. When first discovered, he was still conscious, but his condition rapidly worsened. Emergency responders rushed him to OSF HealthCare St. Francis Medical Center, where medical staff worked to save him. Despite those efforts, he was pronounced dead later that night at around 11:40 p.m.

Officers arriving at the scene described a frantic and disorderly situation. People were fleeing in multiple directions—some on foot, others in vehicles—as the aftermath of gunfire unfolded. Investigators later confirmed that Jarvis had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Authorities believe a large group had gathered at the park for an unrelated event before tensions escalated between two groups. Gunfire broke out, with multiple areas in and around the park showing evidence of shots being fired.

The violence extended beyond Bradley Park. Earlier that evening, two teenage boys, ages 16 and 17, were shot at Stadium Park on East Lake Avenue—one struck in the chest, the other in the arm. Later, another shooting was reported in the 6700 block of North Mountello, where bullets hit a vehicle and a nearby home, though no injuries were reported in that incident.

Jarvis Allison Jr.’s death has deeply impacted the Peoria community. Family, friends, and neighbors are now left to process the sudden and painful loss of a young life taken in a moment of violence. As investigators continue working to piece together what happened, the community is left holding onto memories while hoping for answers and accountability.
