Drevon Mixon Shooting News Death Obituary

The Grand Isle community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 19-year-old Drevon Mixon, who was fatally shot Tuesday night in a mobile home park located along LA-1.

According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 11:20 p.m. to the 3100 block of LA-1 following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mixon suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite emergency efforts at the scene, he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

Investigators believe the incident may have resulted from a personal conflict involving individuals who were acquainted with one another. Authorities stated that the shooting took place in a campground area behind Grand Isle Supermarket and was not related to the store’s daily business operations.

In a public statement, the supermarket expressed sympathy to those affected by the tragedy and clarified that the incident occurred behind the business in a separate campground area.
