Tracy Wayne Hevern, 64, of Bullhead City Dies in Single-Vehicle Motorcycle Crash

A quiet Saturday evening in Bullhead City turned tragic on April 25, 2026, when a 64-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a single-vehicle crash along Arizona Highway 95. Authorities have identified the rider as Tracy Wayne Hevern, a local resident of the Colorado River area. The incident occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m. near Rainbow Drive, prompting an active investigation by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.

According to officials, emergency calls came in shortly before 6:00 p.m. reporting a motorcyclist down in the southbound lanes of Highway 95. Responders from the Bullhead City Fire Department and Mohave County paramedics arrived quickly and found Hevern critically injured near a damaged 2018 Harley-Davidson Road Glide. Despite rapid medical intervention and transport to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center, he was pronounced dead at 7:22 p.m. due to severe traumatic injuries.

Investigators have confirmed the crash involved only one vehicle, with no other cars or motorcycles involved. At this stage, the exact cause remains unknown. Authorities are examining whether factors such as speed, road conditions, mechanical failure, wildlife, or a possible medical emergency may have contributed to the crash. The motorcycle has been impounded for forensic inspection, and toxicology results are pending.

The crash site, near the intersection of Highway 95 and Rainbow Drive, is a heavily traveled corridor known for curves, merging traffic, and occasional sand buildup from surrounding desert terrain. Investigators are also reviewing whether visibility issues, including late-afternoon sun glare, may have played a role.

Tracy Wayne Hevern was remembered by those who knew him as a passionate rider and longtime resident of Bullhead City. Friends described him as someone who deeply enjoyed riding and often traveled along local desert highways. His death has left family, friends, and the wider community in mourning.

Authorities continue to investigate and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or traveled through the area around the time of the crash to come forward.

As the investigation unfolds, officials are also using the tragedy to remind motorists of the importance of caution during the spring riding season. Motorcycles offer little protection in crashes, and even single-vehicle incidents can be fatal.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in the coming days.
